Rolex Diving Watches

Rolex diving watches are termed as the perfect sea dwellers and they date back to the 1920s when commercial work had to be done in the oceans and seas.  For this purpose, professional diving known as saturation diving was required and watches were needed for the safety of the divers.  Rolex, being the manufacturers of high quality watches, took up the challenge and brought out the first model of Rolex diving watches.

Rolex diving watches have a diving depth rating ranging from 610 meters (approximately 2,000 ft.) to 3,900 meters (about 12,800 ft.) The first model was the Sea Dweller Submariner 2000 which had an increased depth rating.  It was soon replaced by the Rolex Oyster Perpetual Sea Dweller Submariner 2000 in 1926.  These watches were mainly manufactured for use in submarines and sea diving.

When practicing sea diving in extreme depths the watch cases must be large in dimension to cope with the water pressure that it encounters under the sea.  In order to obtain this resistance, Rolex watch cases have a diameter of 43.0mm in thickness and 17.7mm of domed crystal thickness and weighs a total of 220g.

Rolex, the name is an epitome of quality.  It has come a long way in the manufacture of various models of watches for everyday use - for diving, for possession, as an antique and so on.  The name Rolex is well read throughout the world and one has a feeling of satisfaction if ever one is able to be the owner of a Rolex watch.  It heightens your status and you automatically get recognized no matter where you go.
